In the retail sector, water may not be the single highest operational cost to your business, but without effective monitoring and management, water consumption can be excessive and cost many thousands of pounds per year.
Following a successful trial at a small number of sites, Demeter was asked to carry out a water use audit of further one hundred retail stores run by the Co-operative. Each location was visited over a three-week period and a comprehensive investigation and audit carried out which included monitoring of water consumption and inspection and assessment of all points of water use. In some stores, where water consumption continued to be higher than expected, water loggers were also fitted. As a result, the loggers were able to identify on-going leaks that were then investigated and repaired.
